All my fabric is 100% cotton (approximately 44" wide) dyed using Procion fiber reactive dyes. The fabric is imported from India as a cotton PFD. The hand of my fabric is very soft and smooth. The weave is tighter than commercially printed fabric, but looser than Batik. Reports from customers that have used my fabric have been positive. I have washed and pressed the fabric prior to packaging and shipping. Each piece is completely done by me in my home.
Colors are expected to be colorfast. Each piece has been washed in hot and rinsed twice before pressing. If you are unsure, pre-wash the fabric using Synthrapol or dye catchers.
"Tammy's Small Changes" are a great way to get a variety of shades. The Nickel Pack, 5 fat quarters, is 5 shades of one color. Dime Packs, 10 fat quarters, are a two color gradation in 10 steps. These Nickel and Dime Packs make great gifts for those hard to buy for quilting buddies. Also, Tammy's Small Changes Club is a great way to build your hand dyed stash with one of a kind fabric.
I do custom dyeing on request. The easiest way for me to understand the colors that you want is by using the 3-in-1 Color Tool. Tell me the card number and color number and I can match it. Contact me through the "Contact Me" page and we can work it out.
Each piece of fabric is unique. Depending on how I bundle, scrunch or lay the fabric determines the basic random patterns. The colors as they blend with each other adds additional texture and beauty. I have tried to represent the fabric as true to color and texture on this website as possible, but all monitors are different and I cannot guarantee that the colors you are seeing are true to the actual color on the fabric.
Blog: Working on a new pattern to use the Dime Pack Fat Quarter pack. Going to be nifty when it is done. Adding some applique. I haven't ever designed something with applique, so this is a new kind of challenge.
